    BEST CARTOON SHOW EVER!!2005-10-115 / 5
BTAS is clearly a quality and the best cartoon. its so good, it doesnt even deserve to be called just a "cartoon", but little mini-movies with surprising depth and some that make you think. i dont think i have to mention why it is, there are plenty of reviews about these sets, i will just say that its plain awsome and the characters and everything are just outstanding. i have just recently bought volume 3 of the set, my first wolume, and i am astounded. the music, the title cards, the soundtrack to each epiosde, the stories, the voice-overs, everything is given its 110% in these shows. i swear, compared to the trash cartoons that WB puts out these days, this show is GOLD AND SILVER. everything else deserves to be called a "cartoon", or worse, a "kiddie" cartoon. BTAS was meant for kids AND adults, and almost everything about them was perfect. they were not to dirty or "mature", yet had some pretty dark elements to it. perfect. simply perfect. i would buy all three at the same time if you have the bucks to spend it.

another thing about this show that i LOVE is the fact that its based in that retro-40's look. cops and thugs wearing trenchcoats and fedoras, the cars look retro, the outfits on the women match those of the 40's, and gotham is a art-deco gotham that is looming and corrupt-looking with that red industrial sky above. i love this look, and its clear that BTAS is based heavily off of the Tim Burtons films BATMAN and Batman Returns, which looks and feels great. more then just the look of the city and ppl, is the look of the characters. selina kyle has that blonde hair just like in the movie with michelle pfieffer, the Penguin is clearly based off of burtons design, flipper hands, clothes, tophat and all, and joker is again based off the look of the movie version albiet hes a more hysterical killer then nicholsons physcotic killer. must thank Burtons 2 absolutly grand Batman films for being the success they were, since because of them, we ALSO got this grand TV show based off of Batman. another thing i noticed that is plain to see that connects the burton films to the animated series is that the same theme from the burtons movies is used in the begining and end credits to the show, which is done maginfecntly by Danny Elfman, who scored the first 2 batman films. what a grand job he has done for both the films AND TAS. they both get you in there and make you feel the excitement of the show and of BATMAN, both in the movies AND the show. too bad later incarnations of the show would turn sour, but nothing, NOTHIN will beat B:TAS for a long time still. its the best there is, end of story.

This collection misses a vital episode! Somehow, everyone forgot about the fantastic episode "Judgement Day" where Two-Face develops a third personality, The Judge. If you are a true Batman fan like myself, you will want to ask the creators of this collection, where in the world is that episode. Although this is a phenomenal collection, it is incomplete!

With most of the bunk out there passing as cartoons these days. It was nice to see one so well put together. Originally I got it to show my nephew how cool it was and how bad "the batman" series is. A joker with dreads what a joke. In any case well worth it and better than most of the programs on your tv. Well acted, well casted and put together by people who were looking to make somthing special not just sell toys.
