| Older version of current group. They are not up to the current group's standards. I was disappointed but if you like the older versions of celtic music you should like this. |

Compared with the new group that has stolen the original Celtic Thunder's name (perhaps unwittingly, but still--bad on them!) this is the real thing. REally Irish, really traditional in some good ways and very innovative in others. Great originals, many written by brilliant poet and essayist (and musician, of course), Terry Winch. I guess it is possible to enjoy both iterations; they are totally different. To me, however, there's CELTIC THUNDER (the original group) and CELTIC BAM-BAM (the newer one).

| before you buy be aware this is not the same Celtic Thunder as the 2008 group. Their CD and DVD is delightful. This 1988group, while interesting is rather old fashioned and amateurish sounding. It has that sound of The Early Elvis Recordings. You may like it and it is Irish music.Just a caution so you (unlike me ) know what you are buying |
| Gorgeous, timeless Celtic music; the ORIGINAL Celtic Thunder | 2008-08-17 | 5 / 5 |

| This is the 15-year-old album of superb Irish music that was the first to use the name Celtic Thunder. It was our first album of Celtic revival music; it introduced us to the genre and we now own hundreds. (For those of you looking for the plastic PBS "Celtic Thunder," please look elsewhere--unless, of course, you want to learn about authentic Irish music. Still trying to figure out how the group on PBS was allowed to desecrate the name. |
