The whole movie is about how the child "hero" of the movie can't connect with his maniacal father, and he whines about it incessantly. He moves in with an older woman who is used as the foil to bring out double innuendos and panty-shots.
There is some occasional fan service.
The artwork is great, the GFR's are well thought out, and the bad guys are cool.
It's all ruined by a whining 14 year old boy.

Simply an outstanding series and my personal favorite anime! I won't spoil the plot too much, but I will mention that this show may be nothing like you expect, but just watch it with an open mind and you may just be blown away by its story and unforgettable characters. I know I was! Also, the packaging is gorgeous as well and the remastered video makes this anime look more phenomenal than ever.
If you're new to anime I'd like to mention that although series is marked TV14, I myself would give it an R rating, especially for the later half of the show. There is definitely some pretty adult content in there.
I want to address a few things besides these though:
Cons:
-WAY too much fanservice for my tastes, especially in the first half of the show
-At times, quite silly, even stupid (again, only in the first half)
-A plot that is ridiculously hard to follow
-An Ending that will please almost no one
Pros
-Utterly phenomenal character development
-Battles are very engaging
-Deep, complex, and emotional throughout
-Extreme replay value
One more thing, if you enjoyed this series, you MUST also watch the End of Evangelion. It's a semi-alternate ending that is much easier to follow (well, kinda).

| It was in perfect condition and met all my requirements, I was realy glad it came with the Directors cut episodes, If you are wondering which perchus to make for Eva, than this is it, I would also recomend the Movie End of Evangelion, licenced under MANGA. |
